Agreements as filed with the CFPB. Not an offer of credit. How we read them

About

About this site

An independent publisher of US credit card agreement data.

What we publish

CreditCardB reads the credit card agreements that US issuers are required to file with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and publishes what each one discloses. The database currently covers 4,587 filed agreements from 798 issuers, of which 2,992 disclose enough pricing to summarise on a page of their own.

The source documents are public records. The CFPB publishes them quarterly at consumerfinance.gov, and we link the specific filing on every card page so any figure here can be checked against the document it came from.

What we deliberately do not do

We do not rank or score cards. We publish no star ratings, no "best card" lists and no editor's picks, because a filed agreement contains only pricing and obligations — it says nothing about rewards, benefits or approval odds, and a ranking built from pricing alone would imply a judgement the data cannot support.

We do not take applications, we are not a lender or a broker, and we are not financial advisers. We cannot tell you whether you would be approved for anything on this site.

We do not accept payment for coverage, placement or ordering. Every agreement in the CFPB database that discloses enough terms gets a page, and every comparison list is ordered by the disclosed figures.

How the site makes money

Two ways, both disclosed. Some outbound links to issuer application pages are or may become paid referral links, meaning we could be compensated if you apply through one. And the site carries display advertising. Neither affects which agreements are published or how they are presented. Our editorial policy sets out where the line sits, and the methodology page explains how the figures are produced and where they can be wrong.

Getting in touch

Corrections are the most useful thing you can send us, particularly if you find a figure on a page that does not match the linked filing. See the contact page.
